Pocket Circus: Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at the library and enjoy the smallest circus in the world. On Thursday, the Pocket Circus performers will be presenting a bilingual show for the entire family at 7 p.m. The circus will blend humor and magic performances with theatrics, music, acrobatics and juggling. Grandparents Day: The children's department is offering a special program just for grandparents and their grandchildren at 2 p.m. Saturday at the library. Limited registration has begun for this free program, so sign up early. Children, ages 4-8, must participate with a grandparent, and together they will make a craft, play a game, listen to a story and have refreshments. Grandparents may also purchase a book with a commemorative bookplate for the children's department collection in honor of their grandchildren. To register, call (847) 428-3661, ext. 310.
Spanish Storytimes: Larissa DeSmet will be presenting Spanish Storytimes at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 27 and Oct. 25. Children of all ages and their families will enjoy a half-hour of stories, fingerplays and songs in Spanish.
