Dundee-Crown senior earns Eagle Scout rank

Mark Tanner, a senior at Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville, recently earned his Eagle Scout award.

A member of Dundee Boy Scout Troop 32 since first grade, he earned 24 merit badges including veterinary medicine, winter sports, and wilderness survival.

For his Eagle Scout award, he removed invasive plant species from a half-acre of land at Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation in East Dundee with help from foundation staff and fellow troop members.

He plans on going to college to study pre-medicine or biology. He lives in Sleepy Hollow with his parents, Janine and Richard, and brother Michael.
