Upscale condos, retail find home in Burr Ridge

The second phase of Burr Ridge Village Center features condominiums in a town center setting.

Burr Ridge Village Center has upscale condominiums in a town-center setting that includes retail stores like Banana Republic, restaurants and office space.

It's located at Burr Ridge Parkway and County Line Road, near Interstate 55.

"Burr Ridge Village Center provides buyers with an urban experience of condos, retail and restaurants, yet it's still within a suburban setting," said Matt Nix, senior real estate director for Rosemont-based Opus North. "The concept has appealed to both young professionals and their parents."

Nix explained that Burr Ridge Village Center is ideal for younger buyers who aren't looking for the typical, suburban single-family home and who enjoy a 'city-like' lifestyle.

"The village will be a lot like a city neighborhood in that retail conveniences are just outside your front door. Errands can be accomplished on foot," said Nix. "Burr Ridge Village Center will also feature the type of shops and boutiques found in some of the city's trendier neighborhoods."

Retailers will include J. Jill, Ann Taylor Loft, Chico's, White House/Black Market, Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, Yankee Candle and Starbucks. Several popular restaurants including white-table-cloth venues and casual eateries, and a proposed internationally renowned Kohler Waters Spa are also planned for Burr Ridge. A Lifetime Fitness is already available to the community onsite.

The luxury condominiums measure from 1,591 to 1,703 square feet and include two bedrooms and 2½ baths, and are base-priced from the mid $500,000s. They include private balconies, a few larger than 440 square-feet; GE stainless steel appliances; walk-in closets; and two indoor parking spaces. Other standard offerings include concrete separation between floors and specially designed walls that ensure noise reduction.

The estate condominiums range in size from 1,491 to 4,033 square feet and include two to four bedrooms plus den and 2 to 3½ baths. These homes also include two indoor parking spaces and are base-priced from $460,900 to $1,600,000. Features within these plans include oversized walk-in closets; premium pre-finished wood flooring in the kitchen; limestone vanity countertops with two undermount sinks; and quiet, energy-efficient, radiant in-floor heating that concentrates warmth in the bottom half of the home.
