Sales open at South Side condo neighborhood

Sales are under way at BLU 44 Condominiums, a new-construction development at 4450-4454 S. Saint Lawrence Ave. in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago.

The eight-unit development features two newly constructed, all masonry 4-unit buildings separated by a landscaped courtyard, according to Rubloff Residential Properties, the sales and marketing agent.

Large three-bedroom condos with two full baths are base priced from $219,000 to $329,000. All of the condos come with private balconies or patios (per plan) and either a secured parking or garage space.

Developed by K & G Development and Power Construction and designed by Anthony Akindele of Nia Architects, the two red brick buildings feature a limestone base, ornamental limestone detailing on the building corners and between each of the four stories. Capping off the architectural details are a pair witch's hats on each building.

All of the four available floor plans feature a kitchen with granite counters, 42-inch maple cabinets and stainless steel appliances.

One of the most popular floor plans features an entry into a long hallway.

To the left of the foyer are two secondary bedrooms. Down the hallway is a second full bath. The hallway then opens to a large kitchen area which is opened to the living/dining room. The area is defined by a breakfast bar/work island.

The huge living/dining room encompasses the entire width of the condo and has access to a balcony or patio, depending on the location.

Some of the amenities included in the purchase price are: security cameras for each unit; hardwood flooring in main living areas; carpeting in bedrooms; solid core Masonite doors; gas fireplace with natural stone or porcelain surround; convenient in-unit laundry facilities and central heating and air-conditioning systems.
