Used musical instrument sale at Bartlett High

On Saturday, the Bartlett High School Orchestra will sponsor its 11th annual "Used Musical Instrument Sale" from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the school's cafeteria, 701 W. Schick Road in Bartlett.

A large number of band and orchestra instruments will be available for purchase, as well as a variety of guitars, amps and miscellaneous equipment.

"Every year, between 60 and 70 instruments are displayed, with about half of them selling during this event," said orchestra director Tom Havel. "It's a win-win situation for the buyer, seller and student orchestra."

Items are sold on consignment, with the orchestra receiving a percentage of the proceeds. Many violins (half, three-quarter and full size) will be for sale, as well as several violas. Additional instruments will also be available at the time of the event.

The sale begins at 9 a.m.
