Carpentersville

• A Carpentersville man was arrested late Tuesday, accused of failing to appear in court Sept. 4, police said. Miguel Barrera, 25, of 206 Caddy Ave., was charged on a warrant with drunken driving, police said. He was held in the Carpentersville lockup Wednesday on $800 bond with a Sept. 19 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

• Another Carpentersville man wanted for failing to appear in court in June, 2006, was arrested Tuesday, police said. Alexander W. Lau, 36, of 347 Tee Lane, was charged with driving while license suspended, police said. Lau was held in the Carpentersville lockup on $200 bond with a Sept. 19 court date in Elgin.

East Dundee

• A 43-year-old Elgin man riding a bicycle failed to stop at Railroad Street and the bike path. Police said he crashed into a 2007 Pontiac. He had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He was issued a warning citation by police.

Elgin

• A burglar broke a glass door and stole 57 cartons of cigarettes and 19 packs of cigarettes together valued at $2,605.27 at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday at Citgo Quik Mart, 1580 Larkin Ave.

• A 40-year-old Elgin man said he was jumped by three other men at 4 a.m. on Wednesday on the 300 block of Elgin Avenue. The three attackers stole his mountain bike, two fishing reels and a backpack containing fishing gear, cigarettes and medication. The total value of the items stolen was $315.

Huntley

• On Sept. 3, copper was stolen from several homes under construction in the area of Copper Lane. The estimated value of the stolen copper was $6,000. On the same day, copper valued at $1,000 was stolen from a home under construction on Russet Lane.
