Non-profit to hold upscale rummage sale in Gurnee
The Lake County Council Against Sexual Assault will hold its annual giant, upscale tented, rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 28, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29 and 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 30.
Sponsored by LaCASA's "Second Hand Roses" club, the sale will take place in the non-profit center's parking lot at 4275 Old Grand Ave. Gurnee. The event will take place rain or shine.
There will be new and like-new items including women's, men's and children's clothing, household items, furniture, linens, books, toys, collectibles and more.
All services provided by the Lake County Council Against Sexual Assault are free. The center's mission is to provide a place where survivors of sexual assault and abuse can heal and to mobilize the community to end sexual violence.
The organization provides crisis intervention and counseling to survivors and their families, medical and legal advocacy, sensitivity training for emergency room personnel and law enforcement and a 24-hour hotline for crisis intervention. LaCASA also provides education in area schools on how to prevent sexual violence.
