Briefs: Restaurant chain charged by EEOC

CHICAGO -- Buona Beef Inc., a restaurant chain with 11 locations in the Chicago suburbs, violated federal law by subjecting female employees to sexual harassment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charged in a lawsuit filed Wednesday. According to the lawsuit, male restaurant managers and other male employees at least at two Buona Beef restaurants regularly made sexual comments to female employees and about female customers, and touched women inappropriately.

Wells Fargo Private comes to Chicago

CHICAGO -- Wells Fargo & Company announced Wednesday plans to expand its Private Bank into Chicago. Wells Fargo Private Bank offers high-net-worth individuals a range of private banking and wealth management services, including wealth planning, investments and trust and estate services. Chip Flannagan and Scott Landau are leading the bank's new Chicago 25-person team at 123 N. Wacker Drive. Both joined Wells Fargo in April from LaSalle Bank, according to Wells Fargo.

Euro hits all-time high against dollar

BERLIN -- The euro hit an all-time high against the U.S. dollar on Wednesday, climbing as high as $1.3878 amid speculation the Federal Reserve will soon cut interest rates by as much as half a percentage point.

Burger King eyes healthier kid items

MIAMI -- Burger King pledged Wednesday to offer healthier fast-food items for children under 12, with plans to sell and market flame-broiled Chicken Tenders and apples cut to resemble thick-cut French fries. Burger King Holdings, the world's second largest hamburger chain, said it has set nutritional guidelines to follow when targeting children under 12 in advertising, including limiting ads to Kids Meals that contain no more than 560 calories, less than 30 percent of calories from fat and no more than 10 percent of calories from added sugars.
