Elgin police take four into custody after shots fired
Four people are in police custody after shots were fired Saturday morning in Elgin, police said.
Elgin police were called to Hastings Street and Illinois Avenue at 11:44 a.m. after several emergency calls came in saying there was a shooting incident at the location, police said.
One person taken into custody had a handgun, but there were no reports of injuries, police said.
Police said a vehicle involved in the incident drove off and they are currently investigating.
Charges are pending investigation and approval from the Kane County state's attorney.
