Carpentersville to mark 120 years with fest, parade
The village of Carpentersville will host a parade and Autumn Fest today to celebrate the village's 120th anniversary.
Participants in the parade will begin lining up at 11 a.m. in the staging area at Carpentersville Middle School, 100 Cleveland Ave.
The parade may be viewed at any place along the parade route which starts at Cleveland Avenue, just east of Carpenter Park, to Lord Street and north on Maple Avenue.
The parade kicks off at noon. Those attending the parade should come early to get a spot.
Parade participants include the Carpentersville Police Department, Carpentersville Fire Department, the village's streets department, the Voter Mobile from Kane County, the Dundee-Crown Junior Chargers Football Team and the Meadowdale Little League.
The Autumn Festival will begin at 12:30 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. in Carpenter Park. This event is sponsored by the village's parks committee. It will feature family entertainment, live music, food and beverages.
