Man killed after being hit by train
A 21-year-old Barrington man was killed after being struck by a westbound freight train in Barrington today.
Antonio Hernandez was struck by the train traveling on the Union Pacific Railroad line west of Route 59 in Barrington, Lake County coroner Dr. Richard Keller said.
Main Street and Route 59 are closed from the crash that happened just after 3 p.m., police said. Traffic is being detoured.
The Major Crash Investigation Team is at the scene, police said.
An autopsy on Hernandez will be performed Sunday or Monday, Keller said.
