Senior Fair to offer screenings, programs

This year's annual Kane County Senior Resources group Senior Fair, sponsored by Provena Mercy Center and Law Elder Law, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 20 at The Fox Valley Park District Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora.

As in years past, the VNA will provide flu shots, and screenings will be available for blood pressure, diabetes risk, and depression. If you are 65 or over, please bring your Medicare care card. Interpreters fluent in medical terminology will be on hand to assist with translation for these screenings.

In addition, more than 40 agencies and companies which provide services and programs for senior citizens, will be on hand to offer information to help seniors, their caregivers, and their families find assistance that they may not be aware of. This is an opportunity to see what options are available, should an older person become in need of help in order to live independently at home, or should the need arise, what various living facilities offer and what levels of care are available, before the need arises.

Entertainment will be provided by "Freedom," a musical group offering a variety of songs. There is no charge to attend.
