Man held on $1 million bond in child molest case
A Round Lake Park man was ordered held on $1 million bond Wednesday after being accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl.
Round Lake Park-Hainesville Police Chief George Filenko said investigators believe the girl was molested over several years.
Coleman Pashegoba, 19, is charged with predatory sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
Filenko said Pashegoba, whose last known address was 618 Creekside Lane, was arrested Tuesday night after an investigation by the police department.
He said the acts took place at various locations in the area when Pashegoba was alone with the girl.
The victim recently told her parents Pashegoba had been molesting her, and the parents called police.
Pashegoba was interviewed by detectives and admitted having sexual relations with the girl, Filenko said.
Police are continuing to investigate the case and have not ruled out the possibility other victims may be involved.
Pashegoba is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 14.
