Carpentersville to mark 120 years with fest, parade

The village of Carpentersville will sponsor a parade and Autumn Fest to celebrate the village's 120th anniversary on Sunday.

Participants in the parade will begin lining up at 11 a.m. in the staging area at Carpentersville Middle School, 100 Cleveland Ave.

The parade may be viewed at any place along the parade route which starts at Cleveland Avenue, just east of Carpenter Park, to Lord Street and north on Maple Avenue. The parade kicks off at noon. Those attending the parade should come early to get a spot.

The Autumn Festival will begin at 12:30 p.m. and run till 6 p.m. in Carpenter Park. This event is sponsored by the village's parks committee. It will feature family entertainment, live music, food and beverages.

It's not too late to enter either the parade or reserve a booth for the festival.
