Mill Race Inn owner offers thanks

The Mill Race Inn has weathered the storm and is now open for business.

We, at The Mill Race Inn, would like to thank the city of Geneva for its continued support and concern at this time of distress. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have sustained losses from the storms and the Fox River disaster.

We apologize for any inconvenience our patrons have endured during this temporary interruption of business at The Mill Race Inn. The Gazebo is open and will remain open through the fall (weather permitting). The main dining room and Mallards remained intact and are now open for business. Unfortunately, the Mill Grill sustained too much damage and will remain closed for an unspecified amount of time.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Geneva Fire Department, the Department of Public Works and the mayor's office for their prompt response to our call for aid. Last, but not least, a special thanks to all the loyal customers, residents and organizations of the Fox River Valley for their prayers and good wishes.

We would be remiss to forget the hundreds of people who came by and/or phoned to offer their help and their moral support -- their thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

A special thanks to all our loyal employees who gave of themselves -- above and beyond the call of duty.
