Officials urge caution on trails
The Kane County Forest Preserve District is warning people to use caution when on the Fox River Trail.
Recent flooding has temporarily impacted trail conditions along the Fox River and in other areas.
"Sections of trails have deteriorated and trail users may experience mud or standing water," said Michael Holan, director of operations and maintenance for the forest preserve district.
"Trail users may also experience debris such as logs, branches or garbage, erosion, or completely washed out sections," Holan said.
Forest preserve staff is currently working on repairs. Clean-up is estimated to take two to three weeks.
