Track tips for Sunday, Sept. 2

With a pair of wins on the Saturday card (Brutal Attack in race two and Coleridge in race three) to total 67 for the meet, owner Frank Calabrese eclipsed his Arlington record set in 2002. His trainer, Wayne Catalano, is two wins away from equaling the record of 69 he set in 2005. Christine Janks' eighth-race win with Mighty Rule marked the 1,500th training victory of her career. Speaking of milestones, Randy Meier, who won Saturday's sixth race aboard Zagor's War, is four scores away from 4,000. The annual Riding for a Cure event to benefit the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation is Monday, Sept. 10th, at the Barrington Hills riding center. Founded by former Arlington paddock host and cancer survivor Christine Gabriel, the Ride begins at noon and concludes with a dinner/dance.
