Choice is everything with homes at Shepherds Crossing
It's an understatement to say home buyers at Shepherds Crossing in north-suburban Zion have a choice when designing their single-family home.
Not only does the community offer 11 floor plans, but also three to four elevations per plan for a total of 36 exterior styles.
Buyers also have plenty of choices in home design as traditional two-story, split-level, first-floor master down and ranch layouts are all available at Shepherds Crossing.
Located on the northwest side of Zion, at Kenosha Road near Highway 17, Shepherds Crossing offers 238 single-family homes by Deer Point Homes. Priced in the $220,000 to $260,000 range, homes vary in size from 1,575 to 2,467 square feet and offer two to five bedrooms, 2 to 2½ baths, partial or full unfinished basements and attached two-car garages.
"Whether they want an additional bedroom and bath, or prefer more aesthetic enhancements like a fireplace, volume ceilings, skylights or oak railings, buyers have countless ways to personalize their home," said Naomi Murphy, director of sales and marketing for Deer Point Homes.
In addition, buyers who are fans of Frank Lloyd Wright can choose from a number of elevations that pay homage to the architect. These designs feature prairie-style etched window grids, low-pitched roofs and clean lines.
As for traditional two-story homes, buyers can choose from eight plans, including the 2,467-square-foot Dartmoor. A four-bedroom, 2½-bath home, the Dartmoor offers all the living space a large family needs. On the main level, the home has a dining room, living room, den, powder room, laundry room, and family room that opens into an eat-in kitchen. All four bedrooms, plus two full baths are upstairs.
One of the more notable design choices in the home is a bunk bedroom configuration offered in one of the secondary bedrooms. The bunk bedroom option features two wardrobe closets and a partition that extends into the middle of the room, creating two separate spaces for siblings.
However, if buyers are looking for their own secluded sleeping quarters, the Galway floor plan is a smart choice. A split-level floor plan, the 1,787-square-foot Galway is one of Deer Point Homes' best-selling floor plans.
While the home's main and lower levels include a living room, eat-in kitchen, family room, powder room and laundry room, the second floor has two secondary bedrooms, a full bath and a loft/optional fourth bedroom. The home's third floor is dedicated to the master suite, which has the option for a vaulted ceiling and a super bath.
For those who prefer their master bedroom on the first floor, Shepherds Crossing gives them that option, too, with the 1,600-square-foot, two-story Fonthill. For privacy, the home's master bedroom is in its own wing of the first floor, down a hall from the main living areas.
Upstairs, The Fonthill has a loft with a walk-in closet, a secondary bedroom and a full bath. Buyers can opt to convert the loft to a third bedroom.
For buyers wanting a true ranch lifestyle there is the 1,575-square-foot Dorset. A three-bedroom, two-bath ranch, the Dorset includes a great room with optional skylights, a dining room and a kitchen with breakfast bar.
