1. Oct. 6 vs. Detroit

Home opener, big crowd, the hated Red Wings in town. Will the Hawks rise to the occasion and excite their fans, or will they lay an egg?

2. Oct 20 at Toronto

Playing in the hockey capital of the universe on a Saturday night in front of the Hockey Night in Canada cameras is always a special occasion.

3. Jan. 8 at Montreal

Denis Savard returns home as an NHL head coach. You think he'll be just a little emotional?

4. Oct. 4 at Minnesota

It's the opener. Time to see what this team is all about.

5. March 19 vs. Washington

The Hawks won't see Sidney Crosby this season, but at least Alexander Ovechkin comes to the United Center for the first time.

6. Nov. 28 vs. Tampa Bay

Nikolai Khabibulin still hasn't faced his old team since leaving for the Hawks two years ago.

7. Dec. 9 vs. Calgary

Mike Keenan is back - again - as the new Flames coach. There still are a few teams left he hasn't worked for.

8. Dec. 7 vs. Anaheim

The Stanley Cup champion Ducks come to town for the first time. Yeah, the Ducks. The Hawks haven't won a Cup since 1961, by the way.

9. Dec. 15 at Buffalo

Patrick Kane, the No. 1 pick in the draft, plays in his hometown for the first time.

10. Oct. 17 vs. St. Louis

The Hawks and Blues might be two of the better young teams in the NHL. Can somebody please do something to get the nasty going in this rivalry again?
