Meet Lyric

Lyric was brought to the shelter along with three other cats when their previous owner could no longer provide a home or care for them. The owner gave the shelter $200 along with a plea to help Lyric find a new home. Lyric has been overwhelmed coming from such a loving and caring environment to find herself here, having to share her space with so many cats and little one-on-one attention. She needs to find some stability in her life and to feel loved again.

These pets are also looking for homes.

Coltrane is a 2-year old Boston Terrier who is opinionated about other dogs. He focuses all his loving on people, no other pets please. He was found as a stray.

Thoreau, a three-legged little lady who is maybe a mix of Lhasa/spaniel loves spending time with people. She even gives kisses to the kittens. She was rescued from a hoarder and gets along with other dogs.

Save-A-Pet is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Adoption fees are $125 for a dog, $150 for a 6- to 12-month-old puppy, $200 for a puppy younger than 6 months, $125 for a kitten and $100 for a cat. All animals are neutered. Cats receive shots, a feline leukemia test and carrying case. Dogs receive shots, an ID tag, leash and collar.

Save-A-Pet now uses the identifying microchip on all dogs and cats entering the shelter.
