•Thieves stole a catalytic converter between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and 9 a.m. Aug. 21 from a 2001 Chevrolet box truck belonging to Adagio International, 1120 Larkin Drive, police said. Value was estimated at $350.
•Thieves stole a silver 1986 Chevrolet Blazer between 4 p.m. Aug. 18 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 20 parked in a business lot at 33 S. Wheeling Road, police said. Value was estimated at $500.
•Vandals spray painted graffiti between midnight and 7 p.m. Aug. 22 on an exterior wall and door at Classic China Restaurant, 1960 S. Wolf Road, police said. Damage was estimated at $200.
•Burglars smashed a window to gain entry and stole unknown cash and payroll checks between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 21 out of a desk at Varsity Vending, 119 S. Wheeling Road, police said. A damage estimate was not available.
•Esteban Cruz, 17, 329 Fletcher Drive, Wheeling, and a male juvenile were arrested around 1 p.m. Aug. 22 and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana after an officer saw them sitting in a back yard on the 300 block of Fletcher Drive with marijuana and a drug pipe, police said. Cruz received a Rolling Meadows court date of Sept. 21; the juvenile was turned over to a youth investigator.
