Pedestrian struck, killed in Villa Park

An unidentified man died late Wednesday night after he was hit by a vehicle in Villa Park, authorities said.

Villa Park police arrived about 10 p.m. where the pedestrian was struck on the 1000 block of West North Avenue.

"We do not know who he is. The man had no ID on him," Villa Park Police Deputy Chief Robert Budig said today.

The victim was pronounced dead at Glen Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights.

Budig said the driver remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with police.

While the crash is under investigation, Budig said, alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor.
