Italy trip: The Sport's Academy-Northwest's Team USA 17U Volleyball team, selected from across the Northwest suburbs, recently returned victorious from tournaments in Italy. Bringing home first and second place tournament trophies, The Sports Academy athletes played more than 40 games in 15 matches against Italian teams in Rome, Vatican City, Nettuno, Sienna, Florence, Rimini, San Marino, Rovigo, Verona, Venice and Milan.

Tryouts: The Sports Academy-Northwest's tryouts for boys and girls club volleyball begin in September. Attention to athletic development, commitment to professional, nonparent coaching staff, and sound skills development helped develop the program that has grown to more than triple in size in two years of competitive play. A five-court indoor facility recently at 355 Hastings Drive, Buffalo Grove.
