State House race is on
Carpentersville businessman Jim Krenz on Tuesday will officially announce his candidacy for state representative in the 49th District. Incumbent Republican Tim Schmitz of Batavia has held the office since 1999. Krenz, also a Republican, will hold a news conference at noon Tuesday at Amy Plumbing Heating and Cooling, 39 N. Western Ave., Carpentersville, outlining issues central to his campaign.
Insect spraying in Huntley
Because of the recent storms and high humidity in the area, the village of Huntley will conduct another villagewide spraying to reduce the adult mosquito population. The spraying will be done overnight tonight and will replace the spraying scheduled for Saturday. Residents can help the village by reporting areas that were formerly dry and have retained water for more than four days because of the recent flooding and storms. Call (800) 942-2555.
Evendale closed in Huntley
Evendale Road in Huntley will be closed through Friday because of unforeseen complications during the installation of a new sewer pipe for the Centegra Health Care Campus. Haligus Road remains open to traffic, but the bike path along Halgius between Evendale and Algonquin Road will be closed during the installation. Call (847) 669-9600.
