Thanks for help at MDA telethon

Every year when Labor Day rolls around my family and I tune in to the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon on WGN Channel 9. My son, Drew Soule, has spinal muscular atrophy, one of the more than 40 such diseases covered by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

For families just finding out that their loved ones have one of the neuromuscular diseases covered by the Muscular Dystrophy it can be frightening. But once they find out that MDA provides top-notch care from specialists in neuromuscular diseases at the more than six local Chicago area clinics they will begin to feel supported.

Drew has been lucky enough to attend an MDA summer camp the last few years at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center where he can have fun in an accessible environment with kids who face similar challenges. Perhaps most important, MDA supports some 350 research groups all over the world working to solve the mysteries of devastating neuromuscular diseases.

When I watch the Telethon, I'm praying for the research breakthrough that will make a difference in Drew's life. I can't thank the people in the Chicago area enough for the support they've given MDA.
