Dundee Crown supporter missed

On Saturday I went to a high school football game to watch my friend's son play.

Just hours before the game, I received a call that my friend had just passed away. My first concern was for his family.

If you knew Doug Cutinello and anyone who has gone to any Dundee Crown High School game knew him. Every kid, no matter what sport they played, knew him. The kids would always go over to him and shake his hand, get a little bear hug and always a word of encouragement from Doug.

Unlike any parent I knew, Doug always told the players how proud he was of them and that they gave it their best.

No matter the score he always had a big grin and would greet the kids at the end of a game with hand shake and a "great game."

I watched his son Matt play, which is what Doug would have wanted, his mother Patty and sister Katie in the stands. There wasn't a dry eye anywhere on our sidelines.

We lost the game. Matt scored the only DC touchdown for his dad. At the end of the game, I gave Matt a hug and kiss. I know his dad was there with a "great game, Matt."

I will miss my friend. The Dundee Crown community has lost a rare individual who was loved by anyone who knew him.

To Patty, Ben, Matt and Katie, your dad was one in a billion. I know the Dundee Crown family will be there for you.
