Carpentersville

•A Franklin Park man was accused Monday of using multiple names and addresses on fraudulent checks written to Woodmans on Randall Road between May 2006 and May 19 this year, police said. Robert M. Gregg, 49, whose last known address was 9407 Chestnut Ave., was charged with seven counts of forgery and one count of deceptive practice, police said. Gregg is being held on the Kane County jail on $5,000 bond with a Sept. 5 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Elgin

•A Wisconsin woman was accused of car theft early Tuesday morning on the 500 block of Tollgate Road, police said. Colleen M. Ehlert, 38, of 618 Vincent St., Twin Lakes, Wis., was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a converted vehicle, police said. Ehlert was being held in the Kane County jail on $6,000 bond with a Sept. 13 court date the Kane County Judicial Center.

•Two Huntley men were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 8 p.m. Monday at Crystal and Wing streets, police said. Robert J. Fuenty, 18, of 11390 Douglas Ave., Huntley, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after 29.4 grams of marijuana and a scale were found, police said. Juan Andrade, 18, of 10127 Bennington Drive, Huntley, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Fuenty is on court probation for possession of marijuana. Fuenty was being held in the Kane County jail on $1,000 bond with a Sept. 10 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center. Andrade was released on recognition with a court date to be assigned.

•An Elgin woman was accused of using fraudulent ID during a traffic stop at 9 p.m. Monday at 270 North Grove Ave., police said. Iran F. Montoya, 22, of 622 Hill Ave., was charged with possession of a fraudulent identification card because her permanent resident card was invalid, police said. Montoya was told she could be deported if found guilty. Montoya was being held in the Kane County jail with a Sept. 13 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

•An Elgin man wanted on three warrants, all for failure to appear in court, was arrested late Monday, police said. Cornelio Bonaficio, 23, of 461 Park Ave., was charged on the warrants with driving while license revoked, driving while registration suspended and driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Bonaficio was being held in the Elgin lockup on $1,500 bond with a Sept. 6 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center and a Sept. 7 date at the Elgin Branch Court.

•Tools valued at $2,750 were stolen between 6:15 and 7 a.m. Thursday from a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado on the 800 block of South Randall Road.

Kane County

•A Huntley woman was charged with drunken driving at 5:35 a.m. Sunday after she crashed her car in a ditch on Route 72 near Walker Road in Hampshire, police said. Brittany K. Lakoma, 19, of 10412 Longfield Drive, was driving a 1998 Nissan 200SX east on Route 72 when she crossed the road, entered a ditch, drove along it and jumped a creek, police said. She also was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Lakoma was released on a personal recognizance bond and taken to Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.

St. Charles

•Tyler J. Winans, 18, of 265A Thornwood Way, South Elgin, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Saturday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to yield at a private drive and driving without insurance, police said. He was also charged by Geneva police with criminal damage to state-supported property and possession of drug paraphernalia; they reported finding three glass smoking pipes in the car. Winans is accused of hitting a car on the 2400 block of Bricher Road, then fleeing to Geneva. Police said Winans drove to Geneva North Middle School, where he went over a curb, through one field, over a track and onto a sports field. His car then broke down, and he ran to a salon at 1772 S. Randall Road, where he was arrested a short time later, police said. The accident was witnessed by an off-duty firefighter who followed Winans during the attempted getaway. No one was injured. A 4-by-4-foot section of the track was damaged.
