Get screened for stroke, heart attack, bone density

Residents living in and around the Buffalo Grove, community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke, heart attack or bone fracture.

Life Line Screening will be at the Buffalo Grove Park District Alcott Center Sept. 10. The site is at 530 Bernard Drive in Buffalo Grove. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.

Screening is one method of detection. Life Line Screening uses painless ultrasound technology to examine the arteries in the legs and arms, carotid arteries in the neck and the abdominal aorta. A bone density screening to assess osteoporosis risk is also offered and is appropriate for both men and women.
