Debt-Free Living Workshop: Learn how to systematically eliminate debts and take that money to build real wealth. This workshop is designed to teach a simple mathematical technology to eliminating debt and operating 100 percent on cash, and to teach participants how to pay off all of their debts, including mortgages, in five to seven years. Bring a list of debts and a calculator to class. This class is strictly educational in nature; it is not an investment program, debt-consolidation, refinancing or bimonthly mortgage plan. Participants will receive a text book and materials at class time. Debt-Free will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sports Center. Register ahead of time at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Adult Basketball: Adult basketball leagues are now offered at the Sports Center. Teams may include up to 15 participants on their roster. The fall men's open league from 7 to 11 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 4 to Oct. 23, at the Sports Center. A deposit is required at the time of registration, with the remaining balance is due no later than at the mandatory captain's meeting. Register by Sept. 6 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Youth and Teen Climbing: This class will focus on all aspects of indoor rock climbing. The first part of each class will consist of specific instruction while the second part of each class will be used to work on skills learned in previous classes. Participants will receive a practice card each week to be used during open climb. Participants must be at least 40 inches tall. Wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes. First through third grade will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 16. Fourth through sixth grade will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 12 to Oct. 17. Seventh through 12th grade will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 13 to Oct. 18. Register by Sept. 4 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Big Messy Art: Kids can channel their energetic and creative spirit in this messy art class. Wear old play clothes and shoes to class. Children ages 2 to 4 with their parent can register for this program by Sept. 5. The program will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturdays from Sept. 8 to Oct. 13 at the Children's Neighborhood Museum. Register at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Special Community Days: Parents and children ages 2 to 5 are invited to celebrate various people, cultures and traditions of the world. There will be three classes per session and one session will run each month. Session I will feature The Navajo Nation Fair, Autumn Equinox and "Apple-icious" from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays from Sept. 10-24 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center, Children's Neighborhood Museum Activity Center. Register by Sept. 5 at the Community Center or the Sports Center.

Music & Movement: Children ages 2 to 4 and their parents can experience music and activities from cultures around the world at the Children's Neighborhood Museum. Children will develop rhythm, balance, large motor and eye hand coordination. Music & Movement will meet from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 11 to Oct. 16. in the Dance Studio. Register by Sept. 5 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Books Abound: This class will help develop 2- to 4-year-old children's literacy skills through the process of bookmaking. Class will meet from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 16 at the Children's Neighborhood Museum Activity Center. Register by Sept. 5 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Guitar Class: This eight session class provides an introduction to the guitar. The lessons will include instruction in general topics such as guitar tuning, flat-picking and finger-picking techniques, music theory, chord progressions and more. Taught by Stacy Lucht, this class is for beginning students who would like to learn the basics before beginning private lessons. Students age 10 and up may register for lessons to be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 6 to Oct. 25, at the Community Center. Register at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Music for Mozarts: Parents and their children ages 2 to 4 can follow the musical discoveries of Mozart Mouse, Beethoven Bear and Clara Schumann the Cat. The class is a comprehensive approach to music learning that develops singing, movement and listening skills while introducing new musical concepts and styles. Register by Sept. 6 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center. The class will be from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Thursdays, Sept. 13 to Nov. 1, at the Children's Neighborhood Museum Activity Center. There is also a Music for Mozarts program for 4- to 6-year-olds from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. the same dates.

Young Rembrandts: Children ages 3½ to 5 will draw a new subject each week in Preschool Drawing, such as fish, teddy bears, rainbows, castles and more. Participants practice fine motor skills, listening skills, staying on task, spatial organization and more. All materials are supplied. This program runs from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 13 through Oct. 18.

•Elementary Age Drawing for ages 6 to 12 will have subject matter like animals, landscapes, abstracts, still lifes and child-appropriate art history lessons. Pencil, marker, sharpie and color pencil techniques are taught. All materials are supplied. Elementary Age Drawing will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Thursdays from Sept. 13 to Oct. 18.

•Each week, Cartoon Drawing for ages 6 to 13 will focus on a different element of cartooning. Movement, cartoon sounds, cartooning familiar objects, fun new characters and more will be taught. Marker and sharpie techniques are taught. Class is from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 13 to Oct. 18.

Registration is required. Register by Sept. 6 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Magic Class: Children ages 5 to 13 can learn tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind reading and more from a professional magician. All materials will be provided. Each child will receive a magic kit to take home. New tricks are taught each session, so students who have taken the class before can sign up again. The Magic Team of Gary Kantor will teach these tricks from 4:30 to 5:25 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Community Center. Register ahead of time at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

Basic Adult Climbing Class: This class will focus on all aspects of indoor rock climbing. The first part of each class will consist of specific instruction while the second part of each class will be used to work on skills learned in previous classes. At the end of the class, participants will be belay certified for the Climbing Wall at the Sports Center. Participants will receive a practice card each week to be used during open climb. Wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes. This program is for ages 18 and up from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 11 to Oct. 16 at the Sports Center. Register by Sept. 8 at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center.

On the Run 5K Run/Walk: Join the Round Lake Area Park District in the seventh annual "On the Run" 5K Run/Walk event scheduled for 8 a.m. Sept. 9. Proceeds from this run will benefit Special Olympics Athletes from the Round Lake area. Check in and registration will begin at 7 a.m. Register ahead of time at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center, or the Sports Center.

Woof, Bark, Walk/Run: This is the park district's third annual dog and owner walk/run. All proceeds from this event will benefit the care and feeding of animals at the Round Lake Area Park District Prairie Grass Nature Museum. The course will begin at noon Sept. 9 at the Sports Center, where it will also end. There will be water stations for dogs as well as for humans along the path. All dogs must be on leashes and have proof of current vaccinations. Registration will be available in advance at the Round Lake Area Park District Robert W. Rolek Community Center, 814 Hart Road, Round Lake or on-site the day of the event. This walk/run is approximately 2 miles.

Sports programs: The park district offers the following sports activities for all ages. Some programs begin in September, so sign up early at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center or the Sports Center:

•Baton Twirling, ages 3 to 5 and up
