$400,000 in cocaine found at O'Hare
About $400,000 of cocaine was seized from the hollow frames of four metal vehicle tow bars on a cargo flight that flew into O'Hare International Airport on Monday, police said.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Agricultural specialists found 20 kilos of cocaine after two El Salvadoran citizens arrived in Chicago around 2:30 a.m. onboard a TACA Airlines flight from Guatemala City, Guatemala, police said.
Officials using an X-ray machine during a routine inspection found the cocaine wrapped in plastic bags and stuffed inside the tow bars, which were checked as luggage, police said.
The seizure was turned over to Chicago police for further investigation.
