Workers repairing sinkhole in southeast Naperville
A portion of Royce Road in Naperville is closed to westbound traffic at Lisson Road, as workers repair a sinkhole cause by the heavy rains.
Vehicles this morning are being rerouted north on Lisson Road, then west on 87th Street to Naper Boulevard.
Road repairs should be complete by this afternoon, officials said.
Eastbound traffic is not affected.
Heavy rains eroded a storm sewer line, causing the sinkhole on Royce Road, said Dan Dixon, the public works department's field supervisor of traffic operations.
