Wasco's Wolverines finish strong

The 12U Wasco Wolverines recently placed seventh in the Around the Horn tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y., site of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Team members include Danny Berendt, Dan Breen, Troy Dykhuis, Nicholas Erickson, Andy Honiotes, Joe Hoscheit, Nick Huskisson, Nick McCullough, Chris McKeehan, Nick Nasharr, Michael Woods, manager John Erickson, coach Dan Breen and coach Rick Dykhuis.

The 12U Wasco Wolverines recently placed seventh in the Around the Horn tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y., site of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

During pre-tournament play, the Wolverines was one of only 10 teams out of 96 to post a perfect 7-0 record heading into the playoffs. They earned a No. 8 seed for the tournament and won their first two playoff games before falling to the No. 1 seeded San Antonio Angels in the quarterfinals.

The Wolverines finished the week seventh overall. This marks the second straight year the team has placed in the top eight in this tournament.
