Thanks to all who helped with festival

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of Grayslake and surrounding communities who took the time to attend Grayslake Summer Days and the fourth annual Lake County Music Festival August 17-19. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not realize we needed dry weather for the fest.

Due to the rain, we were forced to cancel the last band on Saturday night and also cancel the festival and the parade on Sunday. We were unable to reschedule the parade and other activities due to the logistics involved.

On behalf of the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank the many sponsors, volunteers, community/civic groups and village employees who helped coordinate the fest and put countless dollars, time and resources toward the event.

Plans for the 2008 Grayslake Summer Days and the fifth annual Lake County Music Festival Friday, Aug. 15 - Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, are under way! We are excited to welcome back bands 7th Heaven and Mike & Joe already. Check out the Grayslake Chamber Web site, in the future, for updated information www.grayslakechamber.com.

We look forward to seeing you at the many other events including business trick-or-treating, Winterfest and the arts festival as well.
