Mundelein woman killed by car

A 46-year-old Mundelein woman died late Friday after being struck by a car as she crossed Route 45, just north of the Route 83 intersection.

At about 10 p.m., Mundelein Fire Department transported Brigitte Terzian to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The 1999 Chevy Cavalier that struck her was traveling north on Route 45. The driver and owner, Timothy Elsasser, 44, 575 Berry Ave., Grayslake, has not been cited or charged as yet, Mundelein Police said.

Elsasser was taken to Condell hospital for testing, but there were no obvious signs that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident, police said.

Police and the county's Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating the crash.
