New homes set for Elgin subdivision

Town and Country Homes announces the Cape Cod Series of estate homes at Providence, a master-planned community in Northwest suburban Elgin.

Providence offers a neighborhood layout that includes a community center called the Boathouse, parks, preserved wetlands and acres of open green spaces. Providence features 73 Cape Cod estate homes priced from the $470,000s, with 270 Blackstone Series luxury single-family homes starting in the $320,000s. There are also two series of townhouses offered at Providence, with prices beginning in the $220,000s.

Brian Murphy, vice president of operations for Town and Country Homes, says, "We offer five models in the Cape Cod Series, with each home placed on a generously sized home site. Most of the Cape Cod Series homes back to open space, which enhances their style and presence within this community."

The Cape Cod Series at Providence features five two-story homes sized from 3,729 to 4,543 square feet, each in a choice of three exterior styles. These homes include four bedrooms, 2½ baths, basements and three-car attached garages as standard. One plan offers a first-floor master suite, with walkout and lookout basements available on some sites. Prices range from the $470,000s to the $520,000s.

Each Cape Cod Series home includes 8-foot entry doors and 9-foot first-floor ceilings with an open layout. The homes feature formal living and dining rooms, kitchens with center islands and walk-in pantries, breakfast rooms open to the family room, second-floor bonus rooms and first-floor laundry rooms. Each home also highlights a luxury master suite with one or more walk-in closets and a private full bath.

The exterior styles available with the Cape Cod Series includes facades with Victorian or Arts and Crafts influences, plus French Revival, Coastal or Southern Classic, English Cotswold or Craftsman designs.

Some of the architectural stylings of the Cape Cod Series homes include brick trim, dormers, covered entryways, front porches or second-floor balconies, plus exciting rooflines, decorative trim, shutters, columns and bay windows.

Other features are an 80-percent efficient gas furnace and central air conditioning with fresh air intake system, whole house insulation with house wrap and Low E insulated windows.

Construction features include 400-amp electrical service, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, 50-gallon water heater, 30-year architectural shingles and an asphalt driveway with concrete approach. Pre-finished cedar siding, aluminum gutters, soffit and fascia and an insulated raised panel garage door add style. An upgraded landscape package with exterior landscape lighting creates curb appeal.

The Boathouse community center at the heart of Providence is set on the shores of the stocked pond and is next to Providence Park, which features a picnic area and tot lot. The Boathouse includes a fishing pier along with patio seating. Inside, there is a furnished great room with stone fireplace, a food serving area and children's play room. The Boathouse features a New England influenced design with clapboard siding, shed dormers and a cedar shake roof.

Other highlights of the Providence community include two parks, both featuring a pavilion area, tot lot and tennis courts. Residents can also utilize the services of the Community Concierge, to consult for baby sitters, restaurant picks and other service recommendations.

Currently, there are several quick delivery Cape Cod Series homes available at Providence, including a Chatham, Plymouth and Rockland each with prices starting in the $610,000s.
