BB gun earns St. Charles men a court appearance
Two St. Charles men were arrested early Thursday after one pointed a BB gun that looked like a semi-automatic weapon at a neighbor, police said.
Norman J. Carr, 23, 135 Walnut St. No. 230, is charged with aggravated assault, battery and criminal trespass. His roommate, Justin J. Heneghan, 21, is charged with criminal trespass.
Police said Carr and Heneghan went to a neighboring apartment about 2:25 a.m. Thursday, when Carr pulled the gun from his waistband and pointed it at a woman.
The victim reported the incident to police as Carr and Heneghan left the apartment, officials said.
The men were arrested without incident a short time later. Police said they found a Gamo brand BB gun that looked like a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun in their apartment.
Carr and Heneghan were released Thursday after paying $100 each. They are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 11.
