Carpentersville

•A Carpentersville woman used a fake name during a traffic stop at 9 p.m. on Williams Road, police said. Charesha K. Gregory, 28, of 13 Oxford Drive #6, was charged with felony obstruction of justice. Gregory's bond was set at $1,000 with a Sept. 13 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Elgin

•An Elgin teen was arrested on drug charges at 7 p.m. Tuesday on the 300 block of South Street. Daniel Feliciano, 19, of 854 Carnoustie Court, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver after a digital scale, 2 grams of crack cocaine, 11.1 grams of marijuana and 34 pills were found, police said. Feliciano was held in the Elgin lockup Wednesday on $5,000 bond with a Kane County Judicial Center court date on Sept. 10.

•An Elgin man was seen stealing a car battery at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 0-100 block of North State Street, police said. Gary F. Mollinax, 19, of 1220 Amanda Circle, was charged with felony theft, police said. Mollinax said in court Wednesday he was on probation for theft, arson and burglary. He was held in the Elgin lockup Wednesday on $3,000 bond with a preliminary hearing at the Kane County Judicial Center on Sept. 13.

•Two DuPage County residents were arrested on alcohol and drug charges at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 200 block of Grove Avenue. Justin F. Mulanox, 20, of 8209 Carolwood, Woodridge, and Allison R. Smolinski, 18, of 1513 W. 61 St., Downers Grove, were charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said. Mulanox also was charged with possession of marijuana, police said. He posted bond and was released from custody Wednesday. Smolinski's bond was set at $200, and she remained in the Elgin lockup Wednesday evening.

•Burglars broke a window and stole a purse with $520 in it between 6:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Tuesday from a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer on the 2400 block of Alft Lane.

Kane County

•A small plane landed in a Plato Township cornfield Tuesday afternoon, but there were no injuries. The pilot told police that turbulence caused him to land in the cornfield about 100 yards north of Olson Airport, 9N803 Route 47, in Plato Township. Inspectors found no leaking fuel or hazard from the aircraft. Damage to the field was estimated at $200.

•A $300 radar detector was stolen from a vehicle on the 100 block of Maple Tree Lane in Dundee Township between 12:30 and 4 a.m. Monday.

•A Carpentersville man was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin after his motorcycle crashed on Williams Road near Lake Marian Road in Dundee Township at 6:58 a.m. on Monday. Hector V. Guardado, 31, 1724 Queens Court, told police he lost control of his motorcycle on the wet pavement going around a curve.

South Elgin

•A set of conga drums was stolen between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Friday from the 1100 block of North LaFox Street.

West Dundee

•A Carpentersville teen was accused of shoplifting $202.37 worth of merchandise at 6 p.m. Tuesday at J.C. Penney in Spring Hill Mall. Sheena Chavez, 17, of 215 Riversview Drive, was charged with retail theft, police said. She was unable to post a $4,000 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. Her next court date is scheduled for Sept. 13 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
