Rescue at car wash made her day

I had an experience that could have been troublesome and stressful when I took my car to the Swift Car Wash on Randall Road in Carpentersville.

When my car wash was completed, I drove my car into the vacuum lane. I got out of the car and realized that my rear doors were locked. So, I flipped the door lever thinking that all the doors were now open. Automatically, I closed the driver side door. This was a mistake. I must have pressed the lever in the wrong direction and instead of all the doors being open they were all locked.

Everything was locked in the car. I didn't even have a penny on me. The man next to me realized what I had done and offered his cell phone to call my husband. I was not able to reach him. One of the attendants came by and asked me what was wrong.

I told him my tale of woe and he went and got the manager/owner of the car wash. I told him my problem. He asked where I lived and then asked his mother-in-law if she would drive me home to pick up a spare key. The trip was 16 miles round trip. The woman was very pleasant and delighted that she could help me. We had a pleasant conversation and I got to know her and the business.

The family certainly has my business and kudos. I'll always feel at home.
