Jordan's leader shows compassion

This week tens of thousands of Iraqi children whose parents fled to neighboring Jordan to escape the violence in Iraq will be admitted into the Jordanian school system.

Jordan, Syria, and to a lesser extent, Lebanon, have been swamped with displaced Iraqi families seeking what we all seek for our own families....a safe place to raise and educate our children.

During his two terms as President George Bush has sought to expand his pesidential powers while eroding our rights, behaving more and more like a king.

King Abdullah of Jordan has accepted almost 2 million Iraqi refugees and allowed their children to enroll into the free Jordanian education system. King Abdullah's actions demonstrate the true meaning behind the words "No Child Left Behind."

If U.S. citizens can not prevent George Bush from behaving like a king, perhaps we can at least aspire to have an admirable, compassionate and intelligent kng...like Abdullah. Unlike our King George, King Abdullah of Jordan knows that kindness breeds peace.
