Registration for Fall 2007 classes is ongoing. The following is a sampling of classes being offered.

Adult Jazz and Tap: Adult Jazz classes run from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. for nine weeks, Wednesday starting Aug. 29. This beginning class will introduce terminology, technique and style. Class includes strength, stretch and current music.

An introductory Adult Tap class for beginners to learn basic tap skills and techniques with emphasis on rhythm and precision will meet from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays starting on Aug. 31. Both classes are at Buffalo Creek.

Youth Self Defense: This six-week program is for parents and their children. Children learn stranger danger, how to deal with bullies and self-defense for the real world. Child Abduction Awareness will also be taught. The six-week class will be from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 5 to Oct. 10 at the Lake Zurich Family Martial Arts at 215 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. The program is free.

Yoga: Hatha Yoga is offered from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on either Wednesdays or Saturdays. Stretching, breathing and relaxation exercises are done to increase self-awareness and overall well being and help reduce stress. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a towel or mat to class. Babysitting is available for the Wednesday morning classes. The seven-week classes start on Sept. 5 at Buffalo Creek.

Munchkin Soccer & Football: In Mark Miller's Munchkin Soccer and Football, children ages 4 to 8 can learn the basics of soccer from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and football from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Buffalo Creek facility. Mark Miller also offers Parent and Me Soccer and Football for ages 3 to 5, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Parent and Me Football from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Guitar for Kids: Children ages 7 and up can learn the basics of playing the guitar, Mondays, starting Sept. 10. Beginners will learn chords, notes and many songs to get started. Students will be able to play a song after the first class. Beginning classes will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. Continuing classes will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. All classes are at Buffalo Creek.

Yellow Brick Road Preschool: Openings are available for Fall 2007 preschool classes. Children must be 3 by Sept. 1 to be eligible. Yellow Brick Road offers a comprehensive early childhood program for 3- and 4-year-olds with an emphasis on socialization, positive self-image and encouraging a love for learning. Classes meet two, three or four days per week depending on age. Morning or afternoon sessions are available.
