Briefs: Acco to divest Maco labels

LINCOLNSHIRE --Acco Brands Corp., which sells office products, said Tuesday it has agreed to divest its Maco label and tag business to Chartpak Inc. of Leeds, Mass. The deal is scheduled to close later this year. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Maco generated about $15 million in net revenue in 2006. Acco Brands has annual revenues of nearly $2 billion.

Fortune Brands changes leadership

DEERFIELD -- Fortune Brands Inc. said that Bruce Carbonari, currently president and chief operating officer, will succeed Norm Wesley as chief executive officer effective Jan. 1. Wesley, 57, currently chairman and chief executive officer, will continue as chairman of the board. He will have served as CEO for eight years at the time of the transition. Carbonari, 51, also has been elected a member of the board effective Aug. 21. Carbonari has held key leadership positions at Fortune Brands for 17 years.
