Office building approved

The Barrington board of trustees gave final approval Monday to the construction of a new 39,000-square-foot office building. The board unanimously approved the project, which calls for the construction of a two-story building at 700 W. Lake-Cook Road. Officials representing the developers, the Wamberg Family Partnership and Great Lakes Principal, said the second floor of the building will be home to a branch of Smith Barney financial advisers. While no tenants have been signed on for the first floor, the developers said they expect the space will be filled with other financial and legal businesses. Construction is scheduled to get started next month, with the building expected to be finished by next summer.
