U-46 students can now order meals, pay online

This year, Elgin Area School District U-46 parents can enjoy the option of paying for student meals online or by telephone with the new Mealpay Plus system, offered by the Food and Nutrition Services Department.

Parents who would like to make online payments to their child's lunch account must register online at www.mealpayplus.com.

Once an account is created, parents can replenish the funds with a credit, debit, or checking account.

Parents who prefer to pay via telephone can call (866) 757-7006. A service charge of $2 will be added to all online and telephone transactions.

Payments can still be mailed or delivered in-person, as it has been done in the past, for no additional fee.

This program is offered at all district schools. At the high and middle school level, the funds are directly linked to the student's identification card, whereas at the elementary schools the student information will be entered into the database by an attendant as they move through the lunch line.

If you have questions about this new system or would like additional information, call the Food and Nutrition Services office at (847) 888-5000, ext. 5034 or visit online at www.u-46.org/food.
