Teens' works in spotlight at library's film festival

A red carpet will lead the way into the Arlington Heights Memorial Library's teen film fest from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday.

The five Arlington Heights teens in the contest are: Mark Davis of Northridge Prep School; Ben Moxley of Prospect High School; Brian O'Leary of Buffalo Grove High School; Rob Scallon of Rolling Meadows High School and Tommy Tran of Hersey High School.

The Daily Herald's film critic Dann Gire will judge and emcee the event. There will be refreshments and it's open to the public. Each film will also be shown; the longest is just under 10 minutes.

Gire will preview the films ahead of time and select the first-, second- and third-place winners, who will receive Best Buy gift cards.

The film fest will be in the library's Hendrickson Room, which is on the second floor.
