Small fire in Mundelein guitar factory
A sawdust collection bin at a Mundelein guitar factory caught fire Wednesday morning, causing a small fire, Mundelein Fire Capt. Kevin McKinley said. Firefighters arrived about 11:40 a.m. to the U.S. Music store on the 400 block of East Courtland Street after a fire was reported. There, they found a sawdust collection bin outside the building smoking, McKinley said. Firefighters had to open the bin to put out the fire, he said, which they did quickly. McKinley put preliminary damage estimates at $10,000 or less. The fire's cause was related to "the manufacturing process of one of the machines, he said."
