Homeowners' association to hold picnic

Join the Valley Creek Homeowners' Association for its annual picnic from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tyler Creek Forest Preserve, Route 31, Elgin. Enter the forest preserve at the light at Davis Road and go to the upper level.

There are plenty of tables, but you can bring folding chairs. Hot dogs, chips and drinks are $3 for adults and $2 for children. Paper plates, napkins and utensils will be provided.

There will be raffles, prizes and games, along with a kids swap meet. Kids can bring games, videos, toys, etc. to trade with other kids for something "new."

Tickets may be purchased at the site or by calling Ed Sieracki at (847) 695-6379 or Jody Schmeck at (847) 695-9064.

If you are not a member and live in Valley Creek, you may join at the picnic. Get a membership good through December 2008 for the price of one year.
