Kids can explore area creeks with the forest preserve

Join Kane County Forest Preserve District naturalists for an exploration of Ferson Creek at LeRoy Oakes in St. Charles and Tyler Creek in Elgin.

Participants will discover fish and frogs, bugs and birds and other surprises during this summer exploration.

During these creek walks, visitors will get up close and personal with the watery world, so bring shorts and an extra pair of shoes that can get wet. Adults must accompany children in the water. Kids must be at least 5 years old.

The walk will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Tyler Creek Forest Preserve, off Route 31 and Davis Road, Elgin. The fee is $1 per person or $4 for a family of four or more.
