Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew

When, Where: 7:30 p.m., Toyota Park, Bridgeview

Fire outlook: The Fire is hoping to see a lift from its 3-0 victory over Toronto FC on Sunday. The addition of Pablo Wanchope should make the team exciting to watch. Now it will be interesting to see what new coach Juan Carlos Osorio does with his lineup. The addition of Wanchope required a roster move. Veteran defender Jim Curtin was placed on the season-ending injury report with a shoulder tear that reportedly occurred on April 21 (although he has played since then). The Fire plays only four games in August, and does not play at home again until Aug. 25 against Kansas City.

The opponent: The Crew is one of the teams the Fire is chasing in the MLS Eastern Conference standings. It is 6-5-7 (25 points) and having as good of a season as it has had in recent years. The Crew has won five of its last seven games. Forward Guillermo Barros Scheletto leads the team with 4 goals and was the MLS Player of the Month for July. Former Fire Andy Herron is on the team, and should enjoy a visit with Costa Rican national team teammate Wanchope prior to the game.

Next: at Real Salt Lake, Aug. 18.
