New Rotary officers:

The Rotary Club of Geneva has announced its new officers. They are Charles "Chip" Barber as president, Gordie Hard as president-elect, Kathy Coffey as past president, Paul Mueller as secretary, John Ortlieb as treasurer and board members Randy Wright, Don Cummings, Susan Shivers and Jim Filliung.

Geneva Rotary is a service club of business owners, executives, professionals and community leaders that meets at 7 a.m. Tuesdays at Mill Race Inn. The club is involved each year with many local and international service projects, youth scholarships and international youth exchange. Fabyan Windmill tours:

The Fabyan Windmill is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until Oct. 15. The windmill is in the Fabyan Forest Preserve on the east side of the Fox River off Route 25 (south of Route 38) in Geneva. Docents will discuss its history and mechanics, and millers will demonstrate how the windmill runs by climbing and dressing its sails. Tours lasts 30 to 45 minutes, and there is a $2 suggested donation. Call (630) 232-5980.

Brush pickup slated:

Campton Township brush pickup will be Monday through Friday for residents south of Route 64. The maximum diameter for tree limbs is 18 inches and 8 feet in length. Brush must be piled neatly, with cut ends facing the road. Small twigs should be tied together. For more information, visit www.camptontownship.com or call (630) 365-9300.

Unclaimed money out there:

Kane County taxpayers can check the treasurer's Web site to see if their name is listed on its unclaimed funds list, which tops $75,000. Visit www.co.kane.il.us/treasurer. To collect unclaimed funds, a sworn statement must be signed in person. Proof of identification is required. If you believe you have unclaimed funds held by the treasurer, call Michele Schramer at (630) 232-3565.

Check out courts online:

The 16th Judicial Circuit has a Web site to guide people through using courts in Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties. The site explains courthouse locations, court holidays, where to find court files, judge assignments, a phone directory of court personnel and a primer on the state court system. The site also offers Web links to state and local organizations offering legal aid. The Web site can be accessed through www.illinois16thjudicialcircuit.org or via the law and public safety link on the Kane County home page, www.countyofkane.org.
