Motorcyclist ticketed after crash in Elk Grove

Three traffic tickets were issued to a man who crashed his motorcycle Thursday morning at a busy intersection near Elk Grove Village.

Lee Alexopoulos, 18, of 101 Theodore Lane in Itsaca, was cited after the single-vehicle incident on Higgins Road near Arlington Heights Road, said Cook County sheriff's office spokeswoman Penny Mateck.

Mateck said Alexopoulos was eastbound on Higgins when a small truck reportedly cut in front of him about 9:40 a.m. Alexopoulos evaded the truck, hit a raised median and fell on his left side.

Alexopoulos was ticketed for driving on a suspended driver's license, no insurance and not having a motorcycle license, Mateck said. She said he was treated for injuries at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
